yogyakarta trip : roaster and bear cafe

Rain was falling down and we not decided yet where to go, so we just wandering with our car and arrived to Harper Hotel, and if we get parking area, we will visit the famous cafe Roaster and Bear. And lucky, there’s enough space for us to park in this busy downtown.

So this cafe is well known for the bear things? so many bear pictures and teddy bears in real size and properties to hold on and every corner has its own theme.

My friend is not so hungry and we also have to go home a bit early today, so snacking is best option!

I choose fish and chips and calamari (?) If I am not wrong hehe (I tend to forget what I have been eat). And because our corner is sweet and cute bear backwall, we endlessly take so many photos.

sweet one, cute one, calm one, which do you prefer? 😀

 

It is not only cute bear background, but you can make a good rain scene by looking out the window.

but yeah don’t worry to take photos! It is very common and every guest coming here is taking photos heavily so  do express yourself while you can!

yogyakarta trip : museum ullen sentalu

Me and my close friend since child hood was accidentally buying ticket train to yogyakarta, without long thought. And this city was where I was studying for university, I can’t say NO to this plan. We proceed the plan and go without even thinking what we should do. Just,, have fun?!

So first day we arrived yogya very early at tugu station (we took night taksaka from gambir station-jakarta) and meet our car vendor, a reliable and quite funny car rental owner, Heru from rental Aman Amin Jogja. And we arrived home, take bath, sleep, then drive to Mt. Merapi, Kaliurang Area.

This is our first destination “Museum Ullen Sentalu”. A museum about keraton (old Mataram Kingdom) and a bit but comprehensive javanese culture. It spend around Rp. 35.000- Rp. 50.000 to pursue the entrance ticket. But I guaranteed it is interesting! Inside museum we cannot take photos so, I only share our selfie.

The building behind me is souvenir shop and upstair is cafe, you may taste indische food and javanese food there. Fresh mountain air and not so shiny weather is a very perfect day for us taking photo continuously.

I cannot say much about this museum, because it was so unique yet mysterious and my only advice is you have to come by yourself to experience it. If you’re in yogyakarta now, don’t miss it!

tsukuba trip

 

Last day in Japan. We go to Tsukuba and then depart to Narita at afternoon. Spend 1 hr train from Tokyo city to Tsukuba city.

After arrived, My boyfriend parents pick us up and we go together to a restaurant with a beautiful garden view. The restaurant name is La Lotus.

 

It was once a home but now used as a restaurant. And the food also tastes good! Especially if you eat not only with stomach but also with eyes 🙂

It is so nice to have a trip here..

tokyo trip : unagi restaurant

It’s almost last day of my trip in Japan. We decide to eat something delicious and make last unforgettable moment.

After walking through Ginza, and nothing come out with good price and good taste in there, we head back to Tokyo station and choosing some restaurant.

Choice fall to this Unagi Restaurant. This restaurant specialize is unagi sets, and all staffs is oba chan and oji chan using kimono. Kind of unique isn’t it?

This restaurant almost no visitors. Kind of sad! Because their food is pretty much delicious.

Om nom nom nom.. Tasty!

 

 

We talk a lot and hoping we can meet as soon as possible. A bit sad feeling definitely grab us.

It is almost feel like Soekarno-Hatta at this new year.

But well, we believe a good news will come upon us. Do not worrying it too much I guess.

Let’s eat!

I cannot forget the moment oba chan always gladly asking us, if we want more ocha, we ended up asking more than 4 times refill our ocha :’)

tokyo trip : setagaya museum

Today is a bit mandatory travel to Setagaya Museum. As in this week Setagaya exhibit Takenaka Corporation works. I just feel interested to coming and see how is it.

It’s all handdrawing. :0

 

The exhibition is kind of private so we prohibited to take photo inside.

 

Because rain is still falling, we cannot go back and our stomach growling. So we decided to eat at Setagaya restaurant, Le Jardin.

tokyo trip : sensouji

We visit sensouji but it is unplanned. It is already night and we didn’t want to go to hotel so early.

The website said, it is good to see the lighting of temple at night.

And yes, this out of plan destination really captures our heart.

Before entering sensouji, there is market street but almost of them already closed.

 

It turns out so much fun to visit temple in night time and it is full of tourists from every country. I think it is a good choice also to visit day time, but night time certainly different experience.

 

 

tokyo trip : tokyo tower

Tokyo Tower – Eiffel of Japan

 

 

 

Good morning!

Today is kodomo no hi こどもの日

It is a day set aside to respect children’s personalities and to celebrate their happiness.

In Tokyo tower yard we can see koinobori (carp) flags.

The black carp (Magoi) represents the father, the red carp (Higoi) represents the mother, and the last carp represents the child (traditionally son), with an additional carp added for each subsequent child with color and position denoting their relative age.

Such a festive moment.

 

We are queueing to enter tokyo tower elevator. Like going through Anastasia and Great Gatsby Era.

I feel this tower has its own classic style. Eventhough it is older than skytree, this tower has more characteristic and enjoyable moment inside.

Before finished the trip in observation deck, we can try to walk in glass floor. Pretty scary.

If I fall, I hope I am landing in Koinobori ornament hahaha..

 

 

This is signature dish from MOS Burger inside Tokyo Tower cafeteria. Please imagine so many beef and bacon in one bite.

 

There, even when I go home, I cannot stop taking pictures of Tokyo tower. It stands out than the neighbour building. They have enough spot to take photo around of this tower beautifully.

Compared to Skytree, almost I cannot take skytree photo because it stands near other building.

 

Definitely will coming back again at night time!

tokyo trip : sky tree

Good morning!

Today we’re going to skytree!

But unfortunately, today’s weather is not good. Wind is blowing hard and we cannot enter skytree observation deck.

 

So we just go around the mall

There is sylvania family events, I’m surprised that sylvanian family is originated from Japan. Eeeee.. Which animal do you like? Almost every cute animal become sylvanian family doll. No girrafe or elephant though. My favorite is dog families and lamb families.

We participated in this event and get a sticker set hahaha.. Too cute to be used.

 

 

 

Well because we cannot enter observation deck, we decide to have lunch at upper floor. We choose to eat at Matenrou at 31F. It is a part of Solamachi Dining Skytree View. The dining area in this floor really sophisticated.

tokyo trip : tokyo station

from osaka and back to tokyo — tired face

 

 

We took shinkansen from Osaka back to Tokyo, around 2.5 hr journey. And we arrived in this busy station. Actually this place is near with Imperial Palace. But let’s save that for another time.

 

Tokyo station is dominated by red brick as facade material. Make it stand out than modern building nearby. There is some construction work now still going on. So the photo included ongoing project.

The plaza in front of Tokyo station connecting all Marunouchi building (Maru biru, Shin Maru Biru, Oazo and Kitte) – It is building complex of shopping and dining and home for most of Japan powerful companies.

Well we’re spending time sitting, chatting, and seeing other people doing activities.
